Gaztron Engineering offers on-site PSA Nitrogen Generators specifically tailored for water treatment processes requiring precise oxygen removal. Used as sweep gas in degasification, nitrogen enables critical oxygen reduction, essential in water applications such as corrosion protection and food and beverage processing. Our nitrogen generators leverage Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology, delivering high-purity nitrogen on-demand, thus eliminating the need for nitrogen deliveries and ensuring cost-effective, convenient oxygen removal from water.
How Nitrogen Sweep Gas Works in Water Treatment:
Membrane contactors, essential for efficient water degasification, facilitate direct contact between the water and nitrogen sweep gas without liquid and gas phase dispersion. In this process:
Water flows on one side of the hydrophobic membrane (shell-side), while nitrogen, with a vacuum applied, flows on the lumen side.
Oxygen is drawn through the membrane, as the nitrogen sweep gas with a lower partial pressure attracts the oxygen, effectively removing it from the water.
With nitrogen purity levels often exceeding 99.99%, the system provides superior oxygen removal capabilities, meeting the demands of industries relying on oxygen-free water for process integrity.
